Hi David, Thank you so much for your insights. How lucky are we to have you and your expertise as a resource in our community. Bette and I are still in Puerto Rico where it appears to be much less populated and hopefully safer. We have not left our property in almost three weeks except for a guarded visit to the store for needed food and supplies. Beaches have all been closed, curfew at night, and police monitoring the public gathering (not allowed). I hope that all the Posnetts stay well and safe and thanks again for your updates….Larry and Bette

A good sign: “unlike H7N9 influenza disease, where inflammatory cytokines are elevated, minimal pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines were found in this patient.” But the sample is only 1, hardly enough to judge how general this is. I’ve seen reports that pts who do badly are succumbing to cytokine storm reactions.

Yes, we will have to see a lot more patients examined as carefully as this one. A starting point. bigger studies take more time and there is urgency…
